It was mid-morning when this cross breed boy’s owner arrived at Mdzananda pushing him in a trolley. Her friends had joined her to walk from her home, which was not close, to Mdzananda to get help for her dog. He had been attacked by a roaming dog earlier that morning. His tongue was ripped in two.
Thanks to Dr Friedl’s swift handywork he was cleaned up, stitched up and put on antibiotics. The completely deformed tongue was reconstructed.
The very next day his tongue looked much better. The blood flow and movement was back to normal. After a couple of days of cage rest he was collected by his owner in his special trolley to be comfortably escorted home.
