Dr Gemma Driscoll shares her story and talks about our 12 000 pets campaign

Dr Gemma Driscoll from Cape Animal Medical Centre, CAMC in Kenilworth, Cape Town, is a board member of the Mdzananda Animal Clinic in Khayelitsha. She tells us a bit about her history with Mdzananda and the campaign on changing 12 000 township pets' lives.

"Before becoming part of the team at CAMC, the Mdzananda Animal Clinic in Khayelitsha (www.mdzananda.co.za) was where I was based. Although quite a different case load, it took such a piece of my heart. When I moved on from there I couldn't leave it behind, so as a result, I have ended up as the Chairman of the board of directors.

Mdzananda is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Based in the heart of Khayelitsha and operating out of several shipping containers and makeshift buildings we serve approximately 1000 animals per month through consults, hospitalization, surgery and mobile clinics. We have a big focus on education and through all of this aim to uplift and empower the community.

Our mission is to enhance the well-being of animals and their community through veterinary health care, education and partnerships. Our vision? To see companionship and community care for every animal.

We have launched this campaign to change the lives of 12000 township pets and we are excited to make it happen! I would like to encourage you to support us and share this campaign further. The more people we can reach the better! Here is the link to the campaign: https://igg.me/at/-WHnfaom9c0

No contribution is too small ... spread the word and help us enrich the lives of both animals and people in the Khayelitsha community.
